For the first time this year, we are introducing a CSA.
What is a CSA?
CSA stands for "community supported agriculture," an increasingly popular way to bring seasonal, local produce to the public. Under a CSA, farmers sell a certain number of "shares" to members of the local community, who agree to purchase an annual membership in the CSA, in return for regular shipments of farm-fresh produce each week throughout the season.
Information on Sparrow Arc Farm's CSA:
- Member shares will be delivered to Elmwood Chapel, located at 42 Elmwood Road in Wellesley every Thursday
- One share feeds a family of four (or a couple that loves to cook lots of fresh produce!)
- CSA distribution starts the week of July 4 and continues through Thanksgiving for a total of 21 weeks
- We encourage those we don't want a full share to find a friend with whom to split a share
- Shares cost $735 up front ( this breaks down to $35 weekly, and every box contains at least $40 of produce)
- Share boxes must be picked up at Elmwood Chapel between 4 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. each week
- If a member can't pick up their share (for example, during a vacation), they can send someone in their stead
